Hello, I'm so glad its helpful for you! So the forest school I worked was an outdoor nursery which I think translates as Kindergaten age, the children were all between 2 -4 years old.
I really enjoyed reading this, Tom. Having left mainstream secondary teaching after 12 years, I can relate. I'm delighted you have found a way to be an educator in what I think is a much more wholesome environment. Brave move. Good on you 😊
Such an interesting read. My daughter (16) is about to start her A-levels and keeps saying she wants to become a teacher. It is great she knows what she wants to do yet I know it isn’t the right job for her….teaching, yes but not in mainstream schools with all the admin, bureaucracy and ‘not being able to teach the way you know work.’
i'm in the phase you've been through, tom. so, reading this is such a light for me and makes me curious tho. is forest school open for kindergarten age?
